8月24日 The Olympic Games closing ceremonyWatched the ceremony over at my aunt's with my cousins. my father is going to be back from Beijing soon. he has been away with his friends (a bunch of retired men and women) since the start of the event.
The Chinese team has done a really good job in the event. They got more than 50 gold medals from various sports. I am sure they will also do well in London in 2012.
The closing ceremony was alright, although i was expecting a better performance. I really loved the tower part with people moving on it. it was really good. The host for the next Olympic games will be London, England. I hope they will have an even better opening for the world.
I called my mum a few days ago and she told me that construction work has already been started. I think i will go back to London for the 2012 Olympic in the summer to experience the atmosphere in the city. 8月12日 photos of the Turkey TripSome pics from the trip are uploaded here. Go to photo album for them. enjoy ^^ 8月10日 The Opening CeremonyI was watching the Olympic Games opening ceremony with my aunt and cousins last night. We all thought that they ceremony was spectacular. We all loved it. It was really something that we had never expected from any of the previous opening ceremonies. When I was watching, I had the urge to call every one of my friend in the UK to watch the ceremony. I really wanted them to see how much effort the people in China have put into this dream. I really wanted every one to see what China is capable of. (pls don’t tell me things like copyright and ‘genuine fake stuff’ =V=)
China got 2 gold medals already. One is for air rifle and one is for women weight-lifting. GO!! CHINA!! 8月6日 HKCEE =_= sad daysgot back from turkey a few days ago and i am already back to work again. the trip was really good and i enjoyed it to the max ^^
it was the HKCEE result release day two days ago and once again, students were running around different districts for S6. My LCK students called me early in the morning on the 1st day to see if i could help them to get a place in JCC. unfortunately, i couldnt do much. i could only help them to a certain extend then i had to stop because i didnt want to interfere with the interveiw procedure and the decision of the interviewers. i tried to help whoever called me becasue they were once my students at LCK when i was doing my teaching practice.
no matter what, i want to wish them good luck.
i am so sorry thomas, i know how much you wanna go to s6 but i couldnt do much.
8月1日 Trip in Turkey 4Hello again ^^ this will probably be my last entry in Turkey as we will go back to HK tomorrow. Where did i stop in the previous entry? em... ... argh! it was the day i went ballooning and i said that we would go hiking in the afternoon after we got some sleep.
The hiking thing... ... how should i say it. em... we planned to walk through the valley there but we didnt as we were kinda lost our way =_=lll. the whole hiking thing was still very good as we explored some other routes to walk on. suprisingly, we saw more than what we would have seen if we walked on the trail we had planned. so i guess we were all very much happy with it. After hiking, we went to Goreme (a town near Urgup) for dinner (it didnt worth that much money though =_=)
29th July
It was the last day in Urgup. we hired a van to take us to different places. we went to another open-air museum in which we had some fun walking throught narrow and dark tunnels. we went to visit the Fairy's chimneys. to us, they looked more like mushrooms than chimneys. we had to sleep early in the evening as we needed to catch an early coach for Ankara the following morning.
30th July
We were on a small coach to Goreme than changed for a bigger one to Ankara (the capital of Turkey). it took us about 4 hours from Goreme to Ankara. We arrived there at around noon. we didnt plan to stay overnight in Ankara as there wasnt much to see. in the evening at 10, we caught an overnight train back to istanbul. during the 10 hours in Ankara, we visited two places. one was Anatolian Museum (check spelling =_=). the other one was a mosque there. the mosque is said to be the biggest mosque in Turkey but we think that the Blue Mosque in istanbul is bigger and the decoration is better.
yeah!! the overnight train!! it was my first time spending a night on a train. there were two foldable beds in each "room" and water supply too. so we didnt need to go to the public toilet at the ends on a compartments.
31st July (yesterday)
Arrived at istanbul in the morning. there were no rooms in the hotel until 12 so some of the went to Turkish bath, one went walking around town and i went to have waterpipe. the waiters at the restaurant.. ... just simply OMG! it took me some time to talk to them and tell them what i wanted. i had a really relaxing morning, reading my book with a waterpipe next to me and having a cappaccino.
we met at the hotel at noon and went to Grand Bazaar together, after the bazaar, we went back to the shopping streets we went to on the 2nd day in istanbul. i bought some things for my family and my friends.
the dinner we had last night was good. we went to a really expensive place for dinner becasue we thought we should have a good dinner before leaving Turkey. i think we will also have a good dinner tongiht.
1st August
Just had my breakfast and waiting to go out again. today, we will go to Princes Island for a day.
need to get back to my room. good day ^^
