It is true that before your pet die, they will do their best to make you happy with their one last breath or they will just run away because they don’t want to make their owners sad by seeing them die?

I had a dog for almost 7years. It was a Jack Russell. She died 5 years ago because of heart disease. Before she was diagnosed hereditary heart disease, she was very energetic. She loved playing Catch – you threw something out and she would retrieve it. Then she would place it in front of you and wag her tail for the next round. How did we find out about the disease? One day when we were playing Catch, she suddenly collapsed. My mum immediately took her to a vet. Once we knew that she had the disease, we stopped playing Catch with her because it might worsen her situation. Obviously, she got worse day by day. For her last 3 months, she couldn’t move much and she was on medication.

I remember the day of her death very well. In the morning when we woke up, she was surprisingly energetic. She was jumping around my brother’s legs and wagging her tail as if she wanted to play Catch again. However, this joyful moment didn’t last long. She collapsed again only this time she didn’t get up and she was gone. I was very sad and I cried.

 It is very difficult to express feelings with words but I believe that people who have the same experience would understand how tormenting it was for my family (not for my dad though, he was more than happy. I hate him for that).
