You can shape your future!

Success isn’t something you can get for free. You will become someone important or someone influential only if you work hard. If you don’t, then don’t even dream about it. Different people have different interests and talents. One may be good at playing computer games but weak in learning languages. Another may be good at learning languages but extremely weak in playing sports. If you can excel a particular field, you can definitely excel another. The point is whether you are willing to work hard or not. Although the future is indefinite, please bear in mind that you can always do something now so that you will not regret in the future.

As a teacher, I will do my best. I don’t want to see my students feeling sad and depressed after their public exam.

busy busy busy

A few weeks ago, my aunt asked me if I could go to Taiwan for some school visits during the Easter. I had been thinking about it for quite a few days because at the moment and presumingly until the end of April, I will be quite busy.

First time being an ALE / HKCEE exam centre supervisor in the early April and May – so nervous

ESR right after the holiday – therefore preparation must be done

MAEng essay hand in just before the holiday – haven’t done a bit on it yet L not so much, only 2000 =.=lll

MAEng presentation also right after the holiday – also haven’t done a bit on it yet L

MAEng quiz – an open book quiz (still, I hate all forms of exams / quizzes / tests >.<)

Yesterday, I rang my aunt and told her that I will go to Taiwan. YEAH!!! I am sure that I will be quite excited in Taiwan. However, I am also sure that I will be so depressed and stressful as soon as I get back to HK.

Volleyball

I don’t think I can be as energetic as I used to be (about 10 years ago =.=lll ). I played volleyball with some of my 2B students. They were good! – At least they could beat me. Playing volleyball was one of my favourite pastimes when I was a student. Whereas now, my major pastime is marking compo!

It was fun playing with you Harry Potter! You have to teach me again.

I am planning to go to Taiwan for a week for school visit but I don’t think I can because of the ESR we have right after the Easter vacation. It will definitely spoil our break.

A Very Tiring Day

KT Chui

I always thought that i would have an easier life without my Form 7A students but then i realised that I was wrong. My Form 7A kids are now facing their public exams and I am so worried about them. i keep thinking about them every day. Maybe this is my first year teaching Form 7, I pay much attention on their everything, especially their academic performances. Their UE exam will be in early April and I don't think i can relax myself until the day i have their results in hands.

No more Form 7A means more Form 2B. Since my Form 7A kids left a few weeks ago, I have been focusing mainly on my Form 2B kids. I love them a lot but they hurt me a lot. (just like my Form 7A :) I want them to have good results but they don't seem to understand. Giving them more work is a sin. I feel so frustrated sometimes when teaching them. I hope one day they will understand that I am not some kinds of a psycho who like torturing students by giving them work and torturing myself by marking it.

A Hiking Trip From Tai Po to Fan Ling

KTChui

During the weekend just gone, my friends and I went hiking. You may feel that this trip was very short and easy just by looking at the title because geographically, Tai Po is right next to Fan Ling and Tai Wo. In fact, the trip was very long and harsh. We passed over several mountain ranges. It took us about 4 hours to complete the journey.

Morning – Cool and Cloudy, foggy in some parts of the NT.

I sneezed quite a few times right after I got off my bed at roughly around 7am. The weather wasn’t very ideal for hiking so I actually had a thought in mind that I should ring up my friends and ask them to go without me. It was just an idea after all. I did go hiking with them. After breakfast at home, I started packing some of the necessities for hiking. I packed two extra polo shirts, a sweat towel, some candies, some bread and a bottle of water. We arranged to meet at Tai Po Kowloon and Canton Rail (KCR) Station at 9am.

There were 6 people in this hiking trip. First we took a bus from Tai Po to Kadoori Farm and started our hiking trip there. It was quite cool in the morning, so we were walking quite comfortably. It was difficult at first because there were many steps and I didn’t really like steps. Even worse, the steps got steeper and steeper at some parts. We came to a part where there were no big trees and bushes but only green sprouts. A hill fire must have swept through this part and new plants were immerging.

Anyway, we kept walking over mountain after mountain. We got to the top of one of the mountains at around 12. We took out our food and had a break. I looked at the view around the mountain. Actually, the mainland of the New Territories isn’t that big. On the mountain, I could see Tin Shui Wai and Yuen Long on one side and I could see Tai Po and even Sai Kung on the other.

Afternoon – Sunny and hot

We kept walking and walking. We felt like killing the one who led us there by kicking him off the mountain or by banging his head hard with a big rock. No matter now long we had been walking, we still seemed not there (destination) yet. I sweated a lot since the afternoon was quite hot under the sun. Luckily, I brought two extra polo shirts.

Finally!! At half 2, we got to Tai Wo. We then took a minibus to a temple in Tai Po and had vegetarian food. It was very delicious. After eating, I went home and took a nap before dinner. I was so tired that day but it was fun.
